A Word From Dr. Mel
Enough already. Relieve yourself, your children, your family, and friends - most importantly, yourself - of the strain of perfectionism. How much better would it feel to develop within yourself a level of intimacy and understanding that soothes the compulsion to self-recriminate th at recalls the feeling of satisfaction, that is at peace with everything within and around you, that resonates with the grace that all is well; everything works out for you.
You are the most favored child of the Universe, and the sun shines for you and you alone.
Chinese Medicine 101
We suffer from anxiety and depression because - fundamentally - we believe we are not enough. We begin to seek satisfaction, validation, something, anything - outside of ourselves. Food (read: sugar addiction), money, work status, relationships, and anti-depressants.
Waking up to the understanding that you are enough - that you have enough, that Life in Her great wisdom always provides precisely what you need at the perfect time, and that you have been endowed with everything you need to live your most authentic life - is truly the only thing required to live well, to live happily, and to exit this life in a state of deep satisfaction.
It is the job of the acupuncturist to assist each person in realizing her/his destiny, their highest purpose for incarnating.
Maybe next time you see your acupuncturist, the two of you can begin to focus your work on manifesting your destiny. And that... is perfection.
You are the only person who can truly ever understand what it's like to be you. Though, it helps tremendously to have a compassionate and clear mirror to reflect your ideals and guide you in the direction of yourself.
Acupuncture and Natural Medicine do precisely that, precisely when it comes to treating anxiety and depression.
Your acupuncturist will work with you to frame your deepest and most challenging issues in a clinical perspective, and will assist you in transforming your diet, exercise, and relationship with self in a way that supports your returning to a life of emotional freedom and ease.

The ultimate work of resolving emotional debility is always an inside job. We must dive into a deeper understanding of self and cultivate a new way of relating to Life that realizes that which is most good and true about ourselves.
The road to happiness, however, can be smoothed with a huge helping hand from Mother Nature.
